Geography

Taking into consideration and according to the demand of student, we started Geography as special subject at undergraduate level in1997-98 academic year, until then Geography was being taught in the college only at the subsidiary level.
After graduation in Geography students have opportunities in post-graduation on Geography, M.S.W., Diploma in GIS and Remote Sensing. The main object of the department is to acquaint students about geographical knowledge and environment.

OUR LABORATORY:

Geography laboratory is well equipped with all necessary instrument like: Surveying instrument including Plane Table, Prismatic compass and Dumpy Level Weather instrument including Thermometers (Dry And Wet Bulb, Min. And Maxi., Simple) Aneroid Barometer, Cup Anemometer, Wind Vane, Rain Gauge. Stereoscope for better understanding of Aerial Photography.

We are having enough Maps Topographical maps including half, one and quarter inch toposheets Indian daily weather reports Maps for various areas including World, Asia, India and Maharashtra. Three Dimensional maps for better understanding of relief are World, Asia, India, Maharashtra, Interior of the Earth and geographical terms.

Facilities for the students:

Department of Geography is providing maximum necessary facilities to the students. Hall (laboratory) is to free to use for the student to do the assigned work as for the group discussion regarding current and related topics to improve their knowledge. The department provides neat bound journals to the students at normal coast to keep uniformity in the practical work. For keeping the journals and drawing materials properly, department is providing lockers to the students.
