As a next step, to bring computer education within the reach of students from these areas BCS (Bachelor in Computer Science) was started in the year 1989-90. It was one of the first few colleges to start this course with a vision of the future. Looking at the increasing response and requirement of the students M.Sc.(Computer Science) previously known as MCS was started in 1998 to provide specialization in computer science opening a world of opportunities for the students Taking into consideration the growth of IT sector and the opportunities in the field MCA(under Science) was started in the year 2003 to facilitate other science graduates to make a career in computers. The college provides the best infrastructure and facilities to the students with an aim to achieve the overall development of the students. The department tries in every way to achieve academic excellence. This has resulted in the terms of distinction holders in B.Sc.(Computer Science) over the years. The results of M.Sc. (Computer Science) & MCA are also outstanding. We also have had students who are merit holders in the University The admission process has been a great success this year also with a total of 240 students being admitted in F.Y.B.Sc.(Computer Science). In spite of this we had a waiting list of students who could not get admission. The Postgraduate classes also have admissions to full capacity Taking into consideration the strength students we have 4 huge well equipped laboratories with a capacity of 44 Computers each. The computers are of latest technology. We also have a broadband internet facility in each of these laboratories which is made available to the P.G. students and staff. The college library is well equipped with all the required books. The books are updated from time to time according to the syllabus and requirements of the students and teachers. Also many computer periodicals are available to keep the students updated with the advancements in the technology All the faculty is Qualified and experienced faculty runs all the courses. In additional there are visiting faculty members from academic field and IT industry The Placement cell for computer science has been active and successful for the past 8 years. Pre Placement activities are conducted to guide students for appearing in placement interviews and aptitude tests. Placement activities are conducted both on campus and off campus every year. Our students have been placed in renowned companies over the years
